WPL 2026 Auction: Date, Time, Venue, Format, and Rules

The WPL 2026 mega auction is the most important part, as it's where the team formation begins. The entire squad is reset, old players are released or retained, some new players are given opportunities, and a new team is formed. A venue is set for the Mega Auction, as this year it will be held in New Delhi. To give an overview of the tournament, the WPL is a women's league match, consisting of five teams, with each team having a limit of 18 players. Players are initially selected in the Mega Auction. Along with Indian players, some slots are compulsory for overseas players, so this is also taken into consideration when making selections. The highest value in team formation is given to players who are seam-bowling all-rounders. In T20, flexible openers who can handle the game in the middle are targeted and there is more bidding on them. Even after removing their players, the teams have the right to take them back into the team through RTM cards. Apart from this, many other things are included in the Mega Auction.
